Context
Economic cooperation through expert preparation
The planned meeting was part of the League of Nations’ effort to address economic problems internationally. The later invitation transmitted to the US Senate set the conference for Geneva on May 4, 1927. Members would be chosen for their expertise and would not bind their governments.
