Why Prussia’s coalition mattered
Prussia was the largest and most populous state within the Weimar Republic, with its own government and parliament. A change in its coalition could therefore shift a major center of power without changing the Reich cabinet. The headline concerns politics at that state level, not the restoration of a Prussian monarchy.
A new crisis after Poland’s May coup
Piłsudski’s May intervention had overthrown the Polish government after armed fighting. Parliamentary and ministerial institutions continued afterward under a changed balance of power.
